Dr. Baker explained her chapter: "One of the most important lessons you will learn in graduate school is that you must learn how to navigate interpersonal and group dynamics. As you approach your graduate school experience, it is a good time to take a look at your interpersonal toolbox and see what you have, and what you might need, to aid you on this journey. Topics covered in this chapter include: Understanding how family dynamics, family roles, as well as interpersonal needs, can play a part in how you interact with others; understanding how comfortable and confident you are with competition; recognizing the rewards and challenges of standing out and fitting in your program; identifying some common challenging group dynamics and tips for how to manage them."
