Professional Ethics, Morality, and Values: Ethical Practice in Clinical Psychology

Presented by Ruth Nirenberg, Psy.D.

The Professional Ethics, Morality, and Values workshop applies directly to APA principles and  standards for the practice of psychology. Exploring and understanding the Code of Conduct foundation,  context, and application is essential to fostering quality clinical practices. Novice and seasoned licensed  psychologists benefit from repeated opportunities to self-reflect on and discuss their individual and  collective practice to ensure safety for all clients and to promote integrity in the field.

This live interactive webinar workshop provides a professional round-table opportunity for participants  to review APA Ethical Standards, explore the impact on their work, and be challenged on the nuances of  their practice. Attendees will be confronted with real and hypothetical dilemmas, be educated on trends  faced by the APA Ethics Committee, and be supported in intentionally and mindfully advancing the  integrity of their profession. In addition, participants will be taught the importance of shared decision  making, person-centered service delivery, and maintaining the balance between duty to protect and  dignity of risk.

Through the use of video-tele-conferencing and screen-sharing (including computer-generated images,  videos, and quotes), workshop attendees have the opportunity to reflect on existing knowledge,  professional insights, and experiential challenges to their application of principles and standards of  ethical practice that impact their clinical work.

* This course meets NYSED CE requirements for both Professional Ethics & Appropriate Boundaries
