Building a Better Athlete: Using Psychology to Help Athletes

Presented by Deena Abbe, Ph.D., Greg Haggerty, Ph.D., & Art Popp, Ph.D.

Sport psychology is a growing avenue for new opportunities as well as bumps in the road. We will describe new developments in professional sports, collegiate sports, the high school and youth levels. Social-emotional skills(core life skills) are a focus along with establishing a positive climate for learning and performance. Mental health factors and services are essential at all levels. We will also note strategies to personally improve your game, whether it's golf, tennis, pickleball or coaching a youth soccer or softball team.
