A Comprehensive Treatment Approach for Anger and Aggression

Presented by Thomas DiBlasi, Ph.D.

Anger is a negative, psychobiological emotion that increases the likelihood for motor and verbal aggression, domestic violence, revenge, and substance use (DiBlasi & Kassinove, 2018; Tafrate et al., 2002). Large scale surveys show that approximately 8% of adults have poorly controlled anger (Okuda et al., 2015). Additionally, a survey of over 500 clinicians, showed angry clients are just as common as anxious clients (Lachmund et al., 2005). Despite this, many clinicians do not feel comfortable treating angry clients. This presentation would review the negative effects of anger, as well as effective CBT interventions for anger management.

This workshop was recorded on May 7, 2021.
